Our Colorado marijuana lawyers, are committed to sharing news regarding Colorado’s marijuana laws and taxation policies. Taxing marijuana produces revenue for the state it should not make the medicinal marijuana at dispensaries prohibitively expensive.

The release from NORML explains that voters in The Centennial State voted for a ballot measure that established marijuana retailers and producers statewide. These state-licensed institutions were approved in 2012.

Our marijuana lawyers in Los Angeles realize that medicinal marijuana has countless medical uses and could help patients suffering from various ailments.
The potential benefits of medicinal marijuana use for inflammatory bowel disease has not been studied carefully. This, despite the growing acceptance of marijuana as helpful for patients with Crohn’s disease.

There has been relatively little guidance for health care providers about inflammatory bowel disease symptoms that could be alleviated or improved with the use of marijuana.

Perhaps it isn’t too much of a surprise that college students support legalizing marijuana, particularly when most people are picturing an “Animal House”-like setting at which such answers are given. sixbooks.jpg

However, our Los Angeles marijuana lawyers know that the conversation has elevated beyond that point for many of our country’s youth.

A recent Gallup poll revealed that for the first time, a majority of American adults (58 percent) back the implementation of legalized marijuana. That figure represents a 10 percent surge just in the last year alone.

A federal court in Missouri has ruled that the practice of suspicion-less drug-testing of college student, irrespective of their course majors, is unconstitutional and should be immediately halted.

While our marijuana lawyers in California know that the drug is not legal in Missouri (yet) the ruling is significant because it more clearly defines the authority of higher education providers in regulation of the drug.

In Barrett v. Claycomb, U.S. District Court Western District of Missouri, Central Division, Judge Nanette K. Laughry repeatedly referred to a collegiate effort to drug test all first-year students the equivalent of a “suspicion-less search.” She went on to say that but for a few narrow exceptions for students in certain programs where large or dangerous equipment use could be a danger in the hands of someone under the influence (like aviation maintenance), such sweeping drug-testing programs by colleges is unconstitutional.

A new study out of London reveals that certain non-hallucinogenic components of marijuana could serve as effective elements in anti-cancer drugs.

Our marijuana lawyers in Los Angeles know that for years, anti-cancer properties of the drug have been known. However, research into compounds containing the drug have been severely limited, primarily due to government restrictions. That is true both here and “across the pond.”

In fact, a lack of qualified research into the medicinal benefits of the drug was cited in a recent federal court decision declining to reclassify the drug down from a Schedule I narcotic. So for now, it remains recognized by federal authorities as a highly addictive substance with no medically-recognized redeemable value.

California early on forged a reputation as a pioneer when it came to the embrace of marijuana, having been the first state to approve the drug for medicinal use back in 1997.

However, our Los Angeles marijuana lawyers know that dispensary operators, cultivators, landlords and even patients have faced a barrage of action from federal authorities critical of the state’s marijuana regulation.

But that didn’t stop voters in both Washington State and Colorado from pressing forward with measures that resulted in the legalization of the drug for recreational use. Now, California may be poised once again to join them on forefront of the newest marijuana movement, with a new effort underway to legalize the drug for recreational users by next year.

As Massachusetts is preparing to allow its first medical marijuana facilities to open their doors, authorities have grown concerned that many of the backers of the newly-licensed providers are non-traditional.

Local news outlets have learned that of the more than 180 applicants vying for one of 35 licenses to operate in the state, many are supported by a variety of sources. Some received funding from nightclub and restaurant owners. Others got help from landscaping companies. Others from family and friends and a few even from former lawmakers.

Some authorities are sounding the alarm about this, saying it proves that the industry is less about providing for patients and much more about generating profits. However, our California marijuana lawyers know this funding strategy makes a lot of sense when you step back and look at the bigger picture.

Last year, a Utah mother received the gut-wrenching news that her 3-year-old son had been diagnosed with leukemia.

Doctors immediately prescribed a strict regimen of aggressive chemotherapy and radiation to save his life. The young boy became violently ill as a result of the treatments. He suffered nerve damage to his legs and he was in a near-constant state of intense pain. He suffered intense nausea and vomiting and grew increasingly gaunt as he was unable to keep down food. At one point, she tallied, he’d gone 25 days without food.

At this point, this is when she began to explore medical marijuana. She decided to move her family to Colorado to take advantage of the state’s laws and have the ability to provide her son with liquid forms Cannabidiol and THC. She noticed a difference within just one month. Not only was he more comfortable, but his blood platelet levels returned to normal. He’s now in remission.

After recently approving medicinal marijuana in Massachusetts, state officials are expressing concerns regarding online resources offering to connect patients with physicians willing to certify them for approved use of the drug.

Officials with the Massachusetts Medical Society say the problem is that the sites are operated by entrepreneurs with little to no medical background, prompting questions about the overall quality of care.

Our California marijuana lawyers know that similar to here, the laws in Massachusetts require that doctors have a “bona fide physician-patient relationship” established before marijuana can be prescribed.

When Bob Filner took office as mayor of San Diego, he issued a firm call to the city attorney’s office to back off in its action against medical marijuana dispensaries.
marijuanaplantsgrowingoutdoors.jpg
And for a time, our California marijuana lawyers know, the city attorney’s office did just that,

However, now that Filner has been forced into early retirement amid a high-profile sexual harassment scandal, the city attorney’s office is now reverting back to the old policy.
